The World’s Only Passive Temperature Monitoring Technology: Turning Disaster Prevention into Proactive Protection

Can you imagine a sensor reading and transmitting temperature data reliably—without electricity or batteries?

PQSense has made this possible. We developed the world’s only passive, wireless temperature monitoring system that breaks through the limitations of traditional sensors requiring wiring and power. It enables companies to detect risks in hard-to-access environments and prevent disasters before they happen.

This technology was born from a real explosion in an electrical distribution panel. While assisting the company in finding a preventive solution, our team discovered that existing temperature monitoring systems were prone to interference, with high transmission errors, and failed to provide reliable early warnings. In response, PQSense embarked on developing its own system—starting with an RFID temperature chip—to create a battery-free, interference-resistant architecture that operates reliably in extreme environments.

Today, over 12,000 systems have been deployed worldwide across industries like power and manufacturing, helping PQSense expand from Taiwan to the global market. As preventive maintenance becomes an industrial trend, more factories are proactively deploying early detection solutions.

Looking ahead, PQSense aims to integrate AI and IoT technologies—merging temperature, voltage, and speed data—to predict anomalies before they occur. We are entering a new era of smart, proactive maintenance, shifting from passive monitoring to active prediction.

 

PQSense Milestones

 

  • 2015|Founded
    PQSense was established in response to an electrical panel explosion, initiating the team’s journey into sensor R&D.

  • 2016–2018|First-Generation Passive Temperature Monitoring System Completed
    Centered around an RFID temperature chip, we developed the world’s first battery-free, wireless temperature monitoring system. After three years of R&D and losses, the first generation was commercialized.

  • 2019|Second-Generation System Launched: Plug & Play
    The system was modularized to enable real-time temperature feedback upon installation. Usability improved dramatically, opening doors to global expansion. To date, over 12,000 systems have been deployed globally.

  • 2025|Handheld Inspection System Introduced
    Designed for non-critical equipment and low-frequency inspections, this solution replaces manual infrared checks. Passive sensing is now available for routine inspections.

  • Future|RFID Sensing to Enable Multi-Parameter Integration
    Beyond temperature, we plan to include parameters like pressure and humidity to build a cross-functional smart sensing system—driving predictive maintenance and Industry 4.0 data integration.
